How to use Wingate's Proxy Server with FrontPage

You need to move the Personal Web Server to another port than 80.

Wingate must have this port.

How to change port number in MS PWS

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CURRENTCONTROLSET/CONTROL/SERVICEPROVIDER/SERVICETYPES/W3SVC

In this key, there is only one value, Tcpport. This value controls the port of your HTTP server. The value is a hexadecimal representation of the port number. By default, it is set to 50 (80 in hex, the default HTTP port). To change the port of your webserver, simply change this value. As an example, we'll use the port I've chosen, 8080.

Just right click on the Tcpport value and pick MODIFY. Change the value to 901f. The port is now set to 8080. You should be able to access your pages immediately (you don't have to reset or restart the server).
