No Server Error Message

Go to your Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage folder (or the folder where you told FrontPage to install the program file) and run the FrontPage Server Administrator (fpsrvwin.exe).

If there is no port listed, then click on the Install button and install the extensions.

1A. If you are running Microsoft PWS, select MS PWS from the drop down box. MAKE SURE the web directory points to your FrontPage Content directory. If it does not, then exit out of the install, and run your MS PWS administrator, click on the directory tab, and let it know where your FrontPage Web content directory is located.

1B. Otherwise, choose FrontPage PWS.

2. If you pick FP PWS, you'll have to tell it the location of your httpd.cnf file (usually in FrontPage Webs\Server\Conf).

If you are getting a no server on port 80 and your ISP (dial-up) uses a proxy server, make sure you enter the proxy information in FrontPage Explorer, Tools, Options, Proxies.   Otherwise you may get misleading messages that the extensions are not installed.
