Unknown HTTP server type MSIIS

Method 1 to try

1. Uninstall Microsoft FrontPage.
2. Uninstall Microsoft Personal Web Server.
3. Ensure that all necessary network protocols (TCP/IP) and the MS Client for Networks is installed.
4. Install the Microsoft Personal Web Server from the FrontPage CD.
5. Install Microsoft FrontPage from the CD.
6. Download the most current version of FrontPage Extensions for the Microsoft Personal Web Server.
7. Install FrontPage Extensions for the Microsoft Personal Web Server.
   1. Start Windows Explorer.
   2. Change to \Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage
   3. Double Click on FrontPage Server Administrator
   4. Click on the Install button.
   5. Select Microsoft Personal Web Server from the drop down box.
   6. Follow the rest of the prompts.

Method 2 to try

This problem can be cause by incorrect permissions on the \Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage\version3.0\servsupp folder. Resetting (RX) permissions for this folder and its files, for the INTERACTIVE and NETWORK accounts can fix this problem in 10 seconds.

Method 3 to Try

Incorrect versions of fp30msft.dll have been known to cause this problem as well.
